Talking Maine Coon Cat Says ‘How Are You?’ (Sound On)

Updateded: Feb 12, 2023 by Ella Coleman · This post may contain affiliate links ·

Every cat lover knows how smart our furry pets really are. If you have a brainy feline, you probably get offended when you hear people (ahem, dog people) claim that cats aren’t very bright.

But no matter how smart your cat might be, if you don’t have a Maine Coon, you’ll be amazed at the intellectual prowess of this spectacular breed.

That’s where our talking Maine Coon comes in. Watch (sound on) the video here and prepare to be amazed (and amused)!

This kitty has an amazing vocabulary. Not only can he say “hi,” but he also asks his mom how she is! This Maine Coon’s extra sophistication is clear in how he seems to have a French accent, as pointed out in some of the comments.

Cats love their humans and try to communicate with them. Of course, we humans have a much more primitive way of communicating than what elegant felines have at their disposal, but kitties are willing to accommodate us.

This marvelous Maine Coon has dozens of adoring fans in raptures over his talking abilities.

Ita Latina said she thought the kitty said “I love you” instead of “how are you?” but either way, it’s an adorable message.

When you listen to this cute kitty talking, you’ll feel the same way as Vanessa G., who said, “he just made my day” with laughing emojis. Many people say their cats “talk,” but this fluffy pet really does!

Angora Kitty255 pointed out the reaction of the other cat in the video. The other, smaller Maine Coon quickly arrives, ready to investigate what all the ruckus is about. She’s thinking the speaking kitty is speaking “hooman.” Maybe she should join in?

Many cats enjoy chatting with their human companions, but Maine Coons really take the cake. Actually, they’d prefer tuna!

Maine Coons Are Affectionate

Yes, like other cats, Maine Coons love their treats. A sardine or two are always welcome. But more than some other breeds, the Maine Coon is notably affectionate with their favorite humans.

They’re Sociable, Too

Of course, being sociable is a big part of wanting to talk. So, the Maine Coon’s sociability is a big part of why we see the huggable feline in this video trying to say “how are you?” to the human.

It doesn’t matter that the cat probably doesn’t know what “how are you?” means. All that matters is that this cat wants to communicate and connect with the strange creature that provides food, treats, and affection!

Maine Coons Make Special Noises

An adorable ginger maine coon lying on a wooden log.

As well as saying “how are you?” and “I love you,” Maine Coons are known for their adorable noises. As well as the usual feline meowing, Maine Coons make cute trills and chirps! And, of course, they purr.

The Maine Coon’s trilling and chirping make it easier for them to communicate with their humans. As you get to know your Maine Coon, you’ll find out what noises she makes to “tell you” certain things!

Does your Maine Coon ever sit at the window and look at the birds? You’ve probably already heard chirping as your cat tries to imitate the “feathery snacks” she sees outside!

Sometimes a Maine Coon will trill before meowing (OMG, so cute!) to greet you. But after that greeting is done, if your Maine Coon is like the one in this video, maybe they’ll say “hi” and “how are you?” too.

And They’re Very, Very Fluffy

It’s not just the Maine Coon’s engaging personality that makes it so engaging. When it comes to fluffiness, the Maine Coon is famous for its beauty.

You can see this fluffiness on display with the cat and in the video. Are you ready to give this glorious feline majesty the respect it deserves?

So, now you have something to show the next person who tells you that cats aren’t smart! Maine Coons are Einsteins of the domestic feline world.

If you’re going to get a Maine Coon, you should know everything about the breed. Maine Coons love being around their owners, and they demand more attention and time for play. And don’t forget about the luxuriant coat. There’s quite a bit of grooming involved in being a Maine Coon cat parent!
